A Louisiana state judge has ordered YoungBoy Never Broke Again to be detained following the fatal shooting he was involved with while in Florida over the weekend. The rapper was taken into custody immediately following his hearing on Friday (May 17), and is expected to be detained for at least 30 days, reports The Advocate.

According to the report, there is video that shows someone "talking trash and smack" during the incident—which District Judge Bonnie Jackson believes to be YoungBoy. Should this turn out to be true, Jackson—who sentenced YoungBoy, born Kentrell Gaulden, to three years of probation and a suspended 10-year prison term in 2017 for an unrelated case—plans to fully revoke his probation at his next court appearance and instead make him serve the suspended prison time.

A condition of YoungBoy's probation included remaining off of social media, and Judge Jackson feels like this incident is a direct violation of that. She's also been very lenient in the past, not putting the rapper in jail despite him being arrested two more times since that 2017 sentencing. This would be strike three for him, unfortunately.

As previously reported, YoungBoy and his crew were allegedly involved in a shooting outside of the Trump International Beach Resort in Sunny Isles Beach, Fla. over the weekend, while in town for the 2019 Rolling Loud Miami festival. The shooting left one hotel employee dead, injured the rapper's girlfriend and injured a 5-year-old bystander as well. The hotel employee was apparently killed when a member of YoungBoy's entourage returned fire, but the Associated Press has reported that his team will not face charges because they shot in self-defense.

YoungBoy Never Broke Again is due back in court on June 21. XXL has reached out to the rapper's team for comment.
