On Monday, Youngsville Police Chief Rickey Boudreaux will be officially starting up and anti-litter campaign.

The Chief says he was motivated to start this program following their annual city clean up day.

He says he was overwhelmed by the amount of trash they have collected, and he wants to do something about it.

Boudreaux is hoping this campaign will make people think twice before they throw something out of their car window, for example.

It's also costly. Boudreaux points out that a first offense fine for littering is $500, and it just goes up from there.

You can here more about what he is doing on tomorrow morning's, "Acadiana's Morning News with Rob and Bernie" at 6:20 a.m.
