The official Forbes Celebrity 100 List is out, and while J-Lo topped the list followed by Oprah, Bieber and rest of the usual suspects, it was #92 that caught my eye. Right between Tina Fey and Larry The Cable Guy, I noticed a familiar pale face sporting his signature over-sized nerd frames. His name is Skrillex, and according to Forbes, he’s worth a cool $15 million.

He is arguably the biggest name in dubstep, a genre of electronic music that is a favorite amongst neon-sunglasses-wearing college party kids, festival goers, gym rats and everyone in between. In addition to being the genre’s poster-child, Skrillex – real name Sonny Moore – is credited with popularizing the bass heavy dubstep sound, and he’s got three Grammys to show for it.

While his side-mullet hairdo made him the butt of numerous joke tumblrs and internet memes, Skrillex cashed in on over 150 live shows throughout 16 countries in the last year to the tune of $15 million. Looks like he’s the only one laughing now, all the way to the bank.

YouTube sensation Shoenice is at again, and this time he drinks a bottle of Jagermeister in 30 seconds! We have seen this guy down bottles of vodka, eat raw corn dogs, eat cat litter, but now A BOTTLE OF JAGERMEISTER??? Yes, the same type alcohol that you and I fear!!

The question here now is, once he downs the ENTIRE bottle of alcohol, can he keep it down? For many, we can’t even stomach the smell of Jagermeister much less down an entire bottle of it!! Let’s see if he has what it takes to finish this bottle, and once he does let’s cross our fingers it doesn’t come back up.

Disco diva Donna Summer has died at 63. The singer passed away this morning (May 17), after a battle with cancer.

TMZ reports that Summer passed away in Florida. The site also states that she had been trying to keep the extent of the condition private. A source who was with Summer just a few weeks ago said that she didn’t seem near-death and that she was even working on an album and attempting to finish it.

Summer was a disco icon, known for her string of ’70s dance hits such as ‘Last Dance,’ ‘Hot Stuff’ and ‘Bad Girls’ and her songs remained popular for decades afterwards, especially at wedding receptions.

Summer enjoyed pop-friendly hits after the disco decade, with her ’80s comeback tunes ‘She Works Hard for the Money’ and This Time I Know It’s Real.’

The singer nabbed five Grammys in her career. She won Best R&B Vocal Performance Female for ‘Last Dance’ in 1979 and Best Rock Vocal Performance Female for ‘Hot Stuff’ in 1980, which is interesting in and of itself because she crossed genres with the wins.

She was also the first artist to have three consecutive double (!) albums reach N0. 1 on the U.S. Billboard chart and had four No. 1 charting singles within a 13-month period in the U.S. She also enjoyed 12 Gold-selling singles throughout her career.

Summer was the first African American female performer to receive an MTV VMA nomination for the video and choreography of ‘She Works Hard for the Money.’ She was nominated for two Golden Globes, winning one for ‘Last Dance.’

She was married to Brooklyn Dreams vocalist Bruce Sudano. They had two daughters together, while Summer also had another daughter. She also had four grandchildren.

If ‘American Idol’ contestant Joshua Ledet is feeling the heat of being in the top three, he certainly isn’t letting it show. Opening up the night Ledet performed first and sang the judges choice, ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’ by Etta James.

Randy Jackson said that while the judges struggled a bit with choosing a song that was modern or a classic, they ultimately decided to give him a classic because “Why fix what’s not broken!”

Ledet brought down the house with a powerful performance that had all three judges on their feet and left the audience screaming. Despite the uproar Ledet simply stood humbly and flashed his adorable smile, seemingly satisfied with his performance.

Steven Tyler called the performance “surreal,” referring to how Ledet can take an old song that many ‘American Idol’ viewers may not recognize and bring it into the present. He went on: “Out of 70,000 there is one American Idol and you sang like that ‘one’ tonight.” Jennifer Lopez complimented Ledet on being “brining down the house again” while Randy Jackson pleaded with the singer to help bring back the R& B genre which he called “ailing and aching.”

We here at Hot 107-9 are still stunned by the fact that Swamp People star Mitchell Guist has died. We welcomed Glenn and Mitchell Guist into our studio last year as they were our special guest for The Louisiana Outdoor Expo. Since Mitchell’s shocking death, TMZ is reporting that Glenn Guist has made a promise to keep Mitchell’s dream alive!!TMZ reported earlier toady that Mitchell collapsed on a house boat that he had been working on and was giving his project a “test run” upon his death.

Reports indicate that Mitchell had been working on the boat for months and his brother, Glenn, knows how much this project meant to his late brother. Knowing that, Glenn has vowed to complete Mitchell’s project in his honor.

Swamp People star Mitchell Guist died Monday after collapsing on the boat he was working on and it is believed that he may have died due to a seizure. Funeral arrangements are set for this week at a local church — and Glenn’s rep say he will begin work on the boat “after everything is taken care of with Mitchell.”

Chuck Brown, the Washington, D.C.-area funk icon known as the ‘Godfather of Go-Go,’ has died. He passed away today (May 16) at the age of 75. He died at Johns Hopkins University hospital in Baltimore.

Brown’s manager Tom Goldfogle confirmed the news of his client’s death to The Washington Post. The musician had been hospitalized and treated for pneumonia in recent weeks.

While Brown’s name might not be instantly familiar to pop music fans, especially the younger generation, his hooks most certainly are. Brown’s most popular anthem was 1979′s ‘Bustin’ Loose,’ which was sampled by pop rapper Nelly on his massive summer hit, 2002′s ‘Hot in Herre.’

Brown was a funk pioneer, largely credited with creating the go-go genre. It was an alternative to disco in the ’70s and was percussion driven.  He had another hit in 1984 in the form of ‘We Need Some Money (Bout Money.)’

It wasn’t until last year, when he was 74, did he earn his first Grammy award nomination for Best Rhythm-and-Blues Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals for ‘Love’ — a track he recorded with Jill Scott and bassist Marcus Miller. Brown also received a Lifetime Heritage Fellowship Award from The National Endowment for the Arts in 2005, according to The Washington Post.

Brown, who was a performer, singer, guitarist and songwriter, attained cult status but go-go’s reach didn’t expand much outside of the Beltway region. Still, he is remembered and celebrated for his contributions to popular music.

Is Jennifer Lopez the most powerful celebrity in the world? Forbes magazine thinks so and has placed J.Lo atop its Celebrity 100 list, citing her “stunning career reinvention” as a judge on ‘American Idol’ and her renewed success as a performer.

Lopez pocketed $52 million over the past 12 months to beat out megastars like Oprah Winfrey, Justin Bieber and Tom Cruise for the No. 1 spot. Forbes credits Lopez for landing endorsement deals and perfume and clothing lines just a couple years after her career seemed to be in trouble following a series of album and movie failures.

The magazine noted that J. Lo has huge followings on Facebook and Twitter, making her one of the queens of social media, a factor that helped her achieve the No. 1 ranking. Unlike most Forbes lists, this one isn’t based strictly on income, but rather on a subjective analysis of fame, which the magazine defines as “media visibility in print, television, radio and online, plus social media power, which we measure by looking at each celebrity’s presence on Facebook and Twitter.”

Oprah places second, just ahead of Bieber, who graces the cover. The Biebs raked in a whopping $55 million, a figure that could go up next year with the release of his upcoming ‘Believe’ album. Forbes credits Bieber for his often-overlooked business dealings, noting that he has stakes in Spotify and Tinychat.

Three of pop music’s biggest female artists hold down spots 4-6: Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Britney Spears, while Katy Perry comes in at No. 8. Other artists who rank highly include Taylor Swift (No. 11), Beyonce (No. 17), Adele (No. 24), Jay-Z (No. 38) and Kanye West (No. 45).

The gloves are off and the claws are out in the reality singing show wars!

Singer John Legend, who will unite with Kelly Clarkson on the newly launching ABC show ‘Duets’ (which will pair established, A-list judges with upstart contestants), took a shot at new ‘X Factor‘ judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato. He said that they can’t sing, making their appointments to the show’s panel questionable.

“You know it’s interesting. It should be very interesting. I don’t have much to say,” Legend stated to E! “It’s interesting when people you know who are judging singing competitions when they aren’t really singers. It’s interesting.”

For her part, Clarkson, who won ‘American Idol‘ during its maiden season, was excited that the ladies-who-can’t-sing-according-to-John-Legend are boarding the show. “I’m excited for both of them. I’m a big fan of both of them. Both of those girls are super sweet,” she said. Aw! It’s all love emanating from Clarkson.

She continued, “I think it’s fun for them, too, to just be more out in the public eye again. I think those two are two you really want to root for and you really want them to succeed, so I think that’s exciting.”

Clarkson also addressed the mutually beneficial and symbiotic relationship between the new judges and the show, and the fact that ‘X Factor’ underperformed in Season 1. She pointed out that Spears and Lovato would give it the star power it desperately needs, saying, “I think that show really needs it. I don’t think everybody latched onto that show like they thought they would.”

So your best friend is getting married and he asks for you to stand in his wedding, it will happen basically to all of us. However, once the bachelor party comes together and brainstorms how to make the moments leading up to the wedding unforgettable, that’s when things get interesting. Watch as one young bachelor thinks he is being escorted towards a bungee jump, blindfolded, yet it’s nothing close to what he expected. I personally don’t know what I would do or what I would say if I were in this guy’s position. Sure, I’d be glad to know that I didn’t just jump off of a cliff of sorts, but to land in a POND!! Either way, I think this guy was a better sport than me. I can promise you one thing, there would have been no smile on my face if I were the guy in this video climbing out of the water. The answer is clearly “Magic Wand,” but Zach is the only person on earth who couldn’t figure that one out. The 2012 Rock the Bells lineup has been announced, with the likes of Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, Yelawolf and Lupe Fiasco set to perform at the hip-hop extravaganza.

The traveling festival kicks off in Southern California in mid-August and hitting New Jersey in early September, just in time for Labor Day. If there ever was a quality way to close out the long, hot summer, the Rock the Bells Festival is the way to do it.

The festival will hit the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, Calif. (Aug. 18-Aug. 19), the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, Calif. (Aug. 25-Aug. 26) and the PNC Bank Arts Center in Homdel, New Jersey (Sept. 1-Sept.2).

Tickets go on sale on May 19, so be sure and mark your calendar and/or smartphone and nab them on the quick.

Below is the full lineup for the festival. It’s a venerable “Who’s Who” of hip-hop from all eras and subgenres. If you can make it out to one of the shows, we highly suggest and recommend that you do so. There’s so much opportunity for one-offs and impromptu collabs.

Additionally, Rock the Bells and non-profit organization Hip Hop and Hope for Haiti have joined forces to shine light on the disaster-stricken country and to provide continued relief efforts. The festival will make its way to Miami, Fla. in December at Bay Front Amphitheatre at a date to be determined. This will serve as the unofficial fourth market of the festival. Artists from this year’s lineup, as well as from prior years, will perform in this special benefit show where all proceeds will be donated to Hip Hop and Hope for Haiti.

Former Alicia Keys backup singer and ‘The Voice‘ victor Jermaine Paul is going back to his roots. The soulman is gearing up to record with Keys once more — but in a much different capacity. No longer a backup singer but now a star in his own right, Paul revealed that the pair will do a duet!

Paul chatted with MTV News about the project. “She’s always been supportive,” Paul said of his former frontwoman. “Even while I was singing, I would tell her, ‘I want to go solo,’ and she was like, ‘What are you waiting on?’ and I would tell her, ‘I’m waiting on God to fix things out,’ and she was like, ‘Maybe God is waiting on you.’”

Paul wants Keys to appear on his upcoming debut. “We’ve been working on a song for a while now,” Paul said. “And, you know, what better time than now?” True that!

Paul also gushed about his coach and pal Blake Shelton. “He’s a good guy, he’s a man’s man, he’s a what-you-see-is-what-you-get type of guy, and that’s the kind of guy I try to be,” Paul said. “That was ultimately one of the main reasons I chose him as my coach,” he admitted. “I just felt his sincerity, the realness. He jokes around a lot, you know? When he walks in the room, he definitely has a way of lighting up the air.” He sure does — just ask his bromance partner, Adam Levine!

Paul credits Shelton with keeping him sane after his win. “I was going through a whole emotional, mental shock, and I even physically thought my legs weren’t under me, I had my hands on my head,” Paul gushed. “I had this crazy tingling sensations like going through my head — it’s a feeling I can’t even explain — and he brought me back to reality and grabbed me and was like, ‘You did it, man! It’s you!’ It was an amazing feeling.”

Simply drive-up with your donations and the volunteers will take them and place them in the food baskets they are collecting. The food drive is in the parking lot at Cajun Field, right next to the intersection of Bertrand and West Congress. Look for all the Entergy trucks in the parking lot and the volunteers in green. Help feed those that are less fortunate in Lafayette by simply making a small donation. The food drive is going on until 6pm. Please let other’s know that they too can help our neighbors by going to Cajun Field today and donating food for this wonderful cause.

Candice and I went to Cajun Field minutes ago and dropped off a huge bag of canned goods. There is always something special about driving away from a good cause knowing that you have help out someone that may be in need today. Take the time today to help out those that may be hungry, and be sure to thank our friends over from Entergy and Second Harvest for doing the drive today.

Is Will Ferrell’s ‘Anchorman’ sequel going to be a ‘Chorus Line’-style musical? Probably not. That’s too much to ask. But that’s the vibe I’m getting off of this early teaser poster for ‘Anchorman 2,’ which may (or may not) be subtitled ‘The Legend Continues.’

The poster was tagged by The Lebanese Cinema Movie Guide (and shared via ComingSoon). It arrives just ahead of an alleged ‘Anchorman’ sequel teaser trailer that Paramount plans to attach to prints of Sacha Baron Cohen’s ‘The Dictator’ starting this week.

We haven’t seen the teaser yet, but it reportedly involves all four cast members riffing about their return. The last thing McKay told the media about the sequel, they were still hammering out the script. It’s unlikely they’ve filmed anything for the sequel besides this teaser. We’ll post it as soon as it makes it’s way online.

Until then, we have this poster. That’s Ron in the middle, with his signature red suit. Who is that on the left? They appear to have two different pant legs. That has to be Steve Carell’s dim-witted Brick, right?

We have a long time until the ‘Anchorman’ sequel reaches theaters in 2013. But between the Conan O’Brien appearance, the teaser trailer and now this poster, it’s obvious Paramount’s going to promote the daylights out of this sequel, turning it into a massive hit for the studio. Well, that’s if the movie’s any good. It has to be, though. Right?

Other than having your boat sink, this has to be any fishing person’s  biggest nightmare. The large fish you are reeling in leaps out of the water and lands INTO YOUR BOAT!! Imagine, you’re out in the Gulf of Mexico and out of no where a 40-pound fish jumps out of the water and leaps towards you in the boat!! This is what happened to a few fisherman in St. Augustin Florida. Three Florida fisherman were fighting to get a large fish into their boat last year, and unexpectedly the fish leaped out of the water and landed in their small vessel.

Yes, the 40-pound BARRACUDA, known for having razor sharp teeth, jumped out of the water and landed in the fisherman’s boat. As you may imagine, chaos soon erupted, but the fisherman were able to subdue the fish and no one was injured in this freak incident. Still, to have a barracuda land in your boat is a frighting experience for anyone.

What would you have done had you seen a 40-pound fish heading your way while out in the middle of the “Big Blue?” Had it been me, you’d have heard screams come from me that I’d rather you not hear, and as the fish leaped into the boat…I may have been leaping OUT!!!

Last night Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) voted in favor to amend their current contract with RedFlex, the company that manages the Red Light Cameras in Lafayette. This will keep Red Light Cameras at various intersections in Lafayette, plus more cameras will be added with the city. Drivers in Lafayette can expect to see fixed-cameras at 4 additional locations/intersections, as opposed to 17, which was negotiated by the administration.The Safelight/Safespeed program will now be monitored by the Lafayette Police Department, thus all infractions will be under review by the police now. Yes, every time a picture is taken because someone allegedly runs a red light or speeds through an intersection, it is reviewed by an agency prior to a citation being issued. In addition to more cameras at intersections, LCG approved adding two more speed vans to the streets of Lafayette. This will bring the fleet number up to four, and the new additions may be used more in school zones.

With this the contract renewal, the cameras and speed vans will be part of Lafayette roadways for an additional four years. And whether you agree or disagree with them, they don’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Personally, I don’t have a problem with these cameras and vans in Lafayette. If these devices help make the roads safer, I’m all for them. Too often we see people ignoring red lights in Lafayette and running right thru an intersection. Furthermore, I am all for these speed vans being used in school zones. What I don’t like about the speed vans is that they are parked in neighborhoods and on private property at times.

In any case, I like the mission of the Red Light cameras, but I hope to see more of the funds they generate used to improve roads, drainage, etc. There has been much debate over where the funds go from the citations issued via the cameras, and I think LCG may need to better define exactly how the funds can and are improving our city.

It’s no secret, dubstep music is the latest fad amongst many teenagers and young adults. Around the globe, dubstep parties are happening and it seems to be quiet popular amongst those in their college years. However, the folks with Noisey sat a group of tots down and asked them to say what they thought about “Bangarang,” by Skrillex.Watch what these kids had to say about dubstep music and listen to what they say this type music makes them want to do. My favorite line may be, “This music makes me want to slap my sister’s fat bum.” I’ve heard many dubstep songs in the past year and that thought has never registered in my mind.

In any case, watch these kids react to the sounds of dubstep producer Skrillex and see if there are any subliminal messages in this video. Let me give you a heads-up, at about 1:45 into this video see what message these kids are sending, though I doubt they have any clue what the “candy” in the video is representing. All in all, I think its a BAD JOKE the producers are trying to make here.
