Because he's currently behind bars fighting deportation21 Savage was unable to attend the 2019 Grammy Awards last night (Feb. 10). Unfortunately, 21 missed out on performing alongside Post Malone for Post's hit 21-assisted single "Rockstar." While the performance went on without the rapper, Post did hold him down by wearing a 21 Savage shirt—but according to one of 21's managers, there was an even bigger plan to represent for him that didn't pan out.

"We reached out to several artists to perform Savage’s verse and/or stand in solidarity on stage on his behalf," 21's co-manager Kei Henderson wrote on Twitter on Monday morning (Feb. 11). Kei doesn't provide any further details on the matter, so it's unclear whether anyone accepted the invitation.

Before the awards ceremony took place on Sunday night (Feb. 10), 21's other co-manager, Justin “Meezy” Williams, jumped onto Twitter to accuse the Grammys of withholding tickets from 21's mother, who had planned to go in her son's honor.

"Sooo Grammys won’t release savages tickets to Savages mom to go to Grammys on his behalf ... that shit crazy smh ..." he tweeted in the early hours of Sunday morning (Feb. 10). "We won’t be going to Grammys ... the politics and shit is ridiculous ...."

Later that day, however, both Meezy and Henderson confirmed that the tickets had finally been released. They added that they believe the only reason the Grammys did so was because their original tweets had gotten media attention.
