Acadiana Animal Aid Launches ‘Music & Mutts’ Volunteer Program
Acadiana Animal Aid, a local animal rescue organization in Lafayette, Louisiana has initiated a wholesome volunteer program aimed at enhancing the lives of shelter pets.
"Music & Mutts," brings the soothing power of music and the companionship of shelter dogs together to create a calming and enjoyable experience.
Music has the power to calm anxiety not just for humans but for animals too. Once you watch the videos and see the photos of how happy the dogs were while listening to the music you are going to want to get involved even if you can't carry a tune to save your life.

The program kicked off with a special performance by Julian Primeaux, a local artist and Grammy Award nominee, who serenaded shelter dogs with his acoustic guitar and harmonica.
"Music is a powerful tool that can induce relaxation, lower anxiety, and relieve stress for animals," the organization stated in a Facebook post. "The shelter environment can be overwhelming for many homeless pets, but with a live performance like this, our dogs not only calmed down but also got to enjoy a new, mentally engaging activity."
