April 26 Louisiana COVID-19 Update
The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Sunday, April 26th
There are now 26,773 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. 7,310 tests have been completed by state labs and 135,726 tests have been reported by commercial labs. Numbers show that there are 1,701 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized with 265 of them on ventilators.
As of today 14,927 COVID-19 patients are presumed recovered.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 1,458 with 110 deaths reported.
Lafayette Parish: 443 cases, 17 deaths
Iberia Parish: 243 cases, 16 deaths
St. Martin Parish: 221 cases, 15 deaths
St. Mary Parish: 179 cases, 20 deaths
St. Landry Parish: 163 cases, 34 deaths
Acadia Parish: 130 cases, 7 deaths
Evangeline Parish: 45 cases
Vermilion Parish: 34 cases, 1 death
There is more widespread representation throughout the state as all 64 parishes now have at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 1,670. New Orleans continues to be the hardest-hit area of the state. The next update is due out tomorrow at noon.
