Lafayette city and business leaders are working to create a system in which businesses and people police themselves when it comes to wearing masks.

In an interview this morning on Acadiana's Morning News, Cook says council members are working with the Guillory Administration and One Acadiana to create an online directory that shows what businesses are abiding by the state's mask mandate and which ones aren't. Cooks says she should have more details about this directory by the time the next city council meeting takes place on March 9.

Cook also discussed why she changed her mind about supporting a mask mandate for the City of Lafayette, what she expects and hopes to see from the Protect the City Committee, and why it's important for local youth to be take an interest in government.
