BEWARE: DEADLY Disease Found In Target And Walmart Stores Candy Recall In Louisiana
Trying to keep up with every recall that the FDA issues can be overwhelming and many of them do affect Louisiana consumers. If you shop at Target or Walmart this recall is one you will want to make note of.
Target and Walmart are not the only retailers dealing with this recall. Dollar General and HyVee stores also have the contaminated products on their shelves.
What Product Is Being Recalled In Louisiana?
Louisiana and 17 other states are dealing with a serious recall involving the manufacturer Palmer Candy Company.
According to Health, the following brand names use products made by the Palmer Candy company and could be contaminated with Salmonella:
- Freshness Guaranteed
- Palmer
- Sweet Smiles
- Snackin’ With the Crew
- Casey’s
- Sconza Chocolates
- Favorite Day Bakery
- Sunny Select
- Urge!
- Kwik Trip Inc.
Nearly 30 products have been recalled across these brands, specifically those that included white chocolate candy coatings, such as pretzels, cookies, or snack mixes. The Palmer Candy Company's 'Patriotic White Fudge' products are a major concern as we approach the 4th of July.
Each recalled item has a 'Best By' date on the label that will help consumers determine if the product they purchase falls within the called dates that range from 2024-2025.

Consumers Who Purchased Should Do The Following:
The FDA recommends that those who have purchased any of the items manufactured by Palmer Candy Company can return them to the store they were purchased from for a full refund.

The Following Symptoms Indicate Possible Salmonella Poisoning:
- fever
- diarrhea
- nausea
- vomiting
- Abdominal pain.
Recalled Product Packaging:
The recalled snacks can be found in a variety of different packaging such as plastic tubs, pouches, or bags.
Production of the items has been suspended; however, there is still concern that because so many items are involved in the recall, they could still be on some store's shelves or consumers' pantries.
