A judge orders that suspended City Marshal Brian Pope will serve one year in Parish Jail for his malfeasance convictions.

Additionally, KATC says that Pope was sentenced to 3 years in the parish jail for each of his three convictions which can be served concurrently or at the same time.

He will report to jail on June 28.

He was also ordered to serve 240 community service hours and pay $1,500 in fines and $11,700 in restitution.


 

According to KATC, suspended City Marshal Brian Pope’s motion for acquittal on one count of perjury has been granted.

Three other motions for acquittal on malfeasance charges have been denied.

A hearing to determine his sentence on those three charges has begun.
