Chick-fil-A Buys Five Acres of Land for 4th Lafayette Location—But What Happened to the One in Broussard?
Chick-fil-A just made their fourth Lafayette location "official" official.
After news of a fourth Lafayette Chick-fil-A location broke earlier this year, The Advocate is reporting that the fast-food restaurant has purchased five acres of land off Johnston Street.
According to reporter Adam Daigle, land records show that Chick-fil-A purchased 5.3 acres from Goodwill Industries at 5300 Johnston Street near Ridge Road.
Chick-fil-A dropped $2.35 million on the property where they applied for a building permit with Lafayette Consolidated Government earlier this year.
Recently, Chick-fil-A did somewhat of a relocation—closing their longtime location on Ambassador Caffery to open a new location down the road at the Kaliste Saloom intersection near Costco.
While Chick-fil-A will be expanding its footprint in Lafayette, many are still wondering what happened to the location that was rumored to be coming to Broussard near the St. Nazaire-Hwy 90 intersection.
We reached out to Chick-fil-A to find out more information on any possible Broussard location or any type of update, but speculation on social media has ranged from property disputes to concerns with taxes but all of that is simply hearsay.
What we do know is that with all the Chick-fil-A locations that we do have in Acadiana, consumers can't seem to get enough as drive-thru lines stay full and their delicious chicken continues to crank out at an assembly line's pace.
In the meantime, check out The Advocate story here we'll keep you up to date on the Johnston Street location which is sure to be a hit once construction is complete.
