The day has come.

LSU cornerback, Derek Stingley Jr., is going to the NFL after he was drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft tonight.

The Houston Texans selected the former LSU Tiger with the number three pick in the draft.

Stingley, who had a standout year his freshman year at LSU, battled several injuries thereafter, which woould limit his play on the field much of his sophomore and junior years.

One of the biggest concerns by some going into the draft has always been his durability on the field, not his play.NFL Execs know that Stingey Jr. can play at the highest level.

So, the question remains, will his body hold up in the NFL? Well, we will soon find out.

Check out this highlight film of Stingley Jr. while at LSU.

One more thing, on a personal note, I've chatted with Stingley Jr. a few times about football and this young man is a class act. I wish him the best and hope that he has a long/successful NFL career.
