Drew Brees Surprises Army Veteran With Super Bowl Tickets
Drew Brees' military roots run deep.
Brees teamed up with the USAA and the United Service Organization (USO) to give a 20 year Army veteran a pair of tickets to Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta.
Retired Sergeant First Class Patrick Gray was surprised by Brees at the Saints facility in Metairie.
Gray is a Natchez, Mississippi native and life-long Saints fan. His last service was as a Sergeant First Class in the Army’s 82nd Airborne and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan with the Third Infantry Division.
Brees wanted to show a small token of apprreciation to the Army veteran. Both of Brees' grandfathers served in WWII, with his maternal grandfather fighting in the battle of Okinawa with the First Marine Division. Brees has also done multiple tours with the USO abroad.
