Earl Thomas is responding to reports that his wife held him at gunpoint after catching him cheating.

TMZ Sports got their hands on court documents that detailed "a violent April 13 altercation" that involved Thomas, his wife Nina Thomas, and several others including one of Thomas' Baltimore Ravens teammates. Austin Police said they responded to a disturbance at 3:41 a.m. and observed,

a black female wearing an orange sweater with a knife in her hand, later identified as Nina Thomas, was chasing a shirtless black male, later identified as Earl Thomas, with a pistol in his hand around a vehicle.

Both Nina and Earl complied when cops drew their weapons and ordered them to the ground. Once they began to investigate what happened, the details that unfolded were crazy. The full TMZ story is here, but I'll do my best to give you the most necessary parts in an abbreviated (but necessary) short version.

  • Nina says Earl left their home earlier that day after an argument over Earl's drinking.
  • His brother (Seth) picked him up.
  • Shortly after, she logged into his Snapchat to find out where he was using the app's geotagging feature.
  • She then finds a video of Earl with another woman.
  • Nina tracks his location to a nearby Airbnb.
  • She calls two homegirls to ride with her.
  • She grabbed Earl's 9mm pistol to "scare him."
  • Nina and homegirls arrive at the Airbnb.
  • They find Earl and Seth naked in bed with "other women."
  • Nina pulls out the gun and puts it to Earl's head.

Side note: Nina told cops she "took out the magazine thinking that the gun could not fire" but was surprised when cops told her the gun still had a round in the chamber. (Yikes) But back to the story...

  • One of the women took a cell phone video of the entire incident (what?!)
  • The video showed Nina pointing the gun at Earl's head "from less than a foot away."
  • It was "clearly seen" that Nina's finger was on the trigger and the safety was disengaged.
  • Earl was able to wrestle the gun away from Nina.
  • Video shows Nina hitting Earl in the nose.

Police spoke with Earl, who corroborated the story and added that Nina struck him "repeatedly" while he tried to take the weapon away from her. Thomas' alleged mistress said that Nina and her friends also threatened her and the other women in the house yelling "I got something for all you hoes!" while pointing the gun in their direction. One of Nina's friends was reportedly swinging a knife during the altercation as well.

Ultimately, Nina and her friends were arrested once police spoke with everyone and she was booked with "burglary of a residence with the intent to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon -- family violence."

Earl was not arrested and Nina has since bonded out. Since then Nina has also been instructed to stay at least 200 yards away from Earl (and his alleged mistress) through a protective order.

Earl and Nina were married back in 2016 in an over the top wedding attended by stars like Russell Wilson and Ciara. Earl has since responded to the leaked report in a recently deleted post to his Instagram.

Thomas turns 31 today (May 7) and is a 10-year veteran in the NFL. The Ravens defensive back has been selected to the Pro Bowl seven times and is a three-time First-team All-Pro selection with 713 tackles and 30 interceptions between his years in Baltimore and his first nine with the Seattle Seahawks.
