Festival International will be here before you know it and now we know who to look forward to seeing.

The annual free festival dropped its highly anticipated lineup this weekend and the 33rd year of Festival will combine a healthy dose of new and exciting artists as well as a few returning favorites. Mark your calendars now because April 24-28 will be action-packed fun and full of amazing performances.

Festival Programming Director Lisa Stafford says this year has "something for everyone."

We searched high and low to find a perfect balance of traditional and contemporary sounds, so there is something for everyone this year.

A few names that stand out are Robert Randolph & the Family Band as well as Dobet Gnahoré, Moonlight Benjamin and 2017 NPR Tiny Desk Concert Winner Tank & the Bangas out of New Orleans.

There is also a healthy dose of local and regional artists like Keith Frank & the Soileau Zydeco Band, Lane Mack & The Balladeers and Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys.

Our homegrown sound will also include a mixture of Grammy Award winners, blues legends, and rising stars including Marc Broussard, Lil Buck Sinegal, Steve Adams, Tony Goulas, Carol Fran, and so many more talented artists. Festival International Executive Director Scott Feehan describes this set as a once in a lifetime local musical experience.

It is a rare chance to see all of these legends in one place. Lafayette's music scene is very powerful, and it is exciting to pull all of these musicians together to celebrate their success with the community.

Festival International de Louisiane is a non-profit organization that produces the largest International music and arts festival in the United States with a special emphasis on the connection between Acadiana and the Francophone world and an estimated economic impact of 49 million annually.  With over 300,000 festival-goers every year, the annual festival features musical performances by artists from over 20 countries along with workshops, exhibits, visual art, theater and other forms of performance arts.
