This is weird.

Watch as a forest appears to be breathing in a very interesting video.

It looks like the forest is inhaling, then exhaling, but that's not what's happening here. What is actually happening is the wind is making it look like the ground is moving.

Here's what's going on, the forest floor is covered with moss and leaves, and under that are shallow tree roots.  So, when the wind makes the trees sway, their roots rise up and lifts the moss, thus causing the allusion of the ground "breathing."

This totally freaked me out at first and I kept thinking to myself, the person documenting this may want to move back.

Note to self, if I ever see this happening it may be wise to leave the area before a tree falls on me. Yeah, good idea.
