The ‘Glamour Shot Challenge’ Is Helping People To Combat Quarantine Boredom
As we enter day (whatever it is) of sheltering in place due to COVID-19, here's something that you can do to pass the time.
Social media has been buzzing with the "Glamour Shot" challenge, and it's very easy to play along. As a matter of fact, if you're reading this then you have all the tools necessary to participate.
Head on over to Google and search for your first name + glamour shots and choose the first (non-celebrity) photo that comes up. I did it, and here was my result.
I must admit that I'm wondering if my Glamour Shot Challenge pic leans more toward epic or tragic, but it's definitely funny, and I think that's the entire point of the challenge.
For those who are lost on why this is "a thing" Glamour Shots is a portrait company that rose to incredible popularity (especially with women) in the 80s and 90s for their photo sessions that included a personal consultation, multiple wardrobe looks, and a complete makeover.
Their locations were usually in local malls and during that era, every home was likely to have at least one mom or young daughter with Glamour Shots on display.
By the way, they still exist if you wanna check out what they're up to now.
So share with friends, and let's laugh while we safely shelter in place. Hopefully, we'll be laughing together again sooner than later.
