Community Rallies Around Taco Sisters Family After Jon Jenkins’ Unexpected Death
Just days after the unexpected passing of Taco Sisters owner Jon Jenkins, the Acadiana community is finding new ways to support the family he leaves behind.
A GoFundMe campaign has now been established to help Jenkins' wife, Lynn, their two children, and their family as they navigate the difficult weeks and months ahead.
The fundraiser describes Jon and Lynn Jenkins as pillars of the Lafayette community whose generosity and kindness touched countless lives through Taco Sisters and beyond.
"Jon and Lynn Jenkins are a staple in our Lafayette community," the campaign reads. "His family has shared their love and light to everyone around them, and now they need us to carry the light as Jon has passed away."
Fundraiser Aims To Support Family Through Difficult Transition
According to the fundraiser, donations will help provide support as Lynn Jenkins faces the challenges of raising their children and leading the family forward while preserving Jon's legacy.
Organizers noted that Jon's passing was unexpected and asked the public to give the family grace and privacy as they process their loss.
The fundraiser also revealed that Jenkins had been fighting a difficult health battle and was working toward recovery before his death.
Supporters say the overwhelming response reflects the impact Jon had on the community through years of service, generosity, mentorship, and involvement in local causes.

Taco Sisters Announces Reopening Plans
While the community continues to mourn, Taco Sisters says it is preparing to reopen its doors Monday.
In a message shared with customers, the restaurant sought to reassure Acadiana that the business remains committed to moving forward while honoring Jenkins' memory.
"As we grieve the loss of our beloved partner, Jon Jenkins, we want to reassure our community, Taco Sisters remains strong and we are here to stay, Acadiana," the restaurant said.
The statement added that employees would return Monday to continue serving customers "just as Jon would have wanted."
Carrying Forward Jon's Legacy
The announcement comes after an emotional outpouring of support from customers, friends, former coworkers, local business owners, and community organizations who have shared stories about Jenkins' kindness and generosity.
Many described him as someone who quietly invested in people, supported local nonprofits, and consistently gave back to Acadiana.
How To Help
Those wishing to support the Jenkins family can do so through the GoFundMe campaign established on their behalf. Organizers say every contribution, regardless of size, will help provide stability and support during an incredibly difficult chapter for the family.
