John Bel Edwards is asking citizens of Louisiana to do their part in conserving energy tonight. If we do our part, we may avoid rolling blackouts across the state on a very cold night.

The governor noted in a post on Facebook that Louisiana could experience rolling blackouts due to the high demand for electricity.

In an effort to avoid such, we should all lower thermostats to 68 degrees in our homes, delay using hot water and avoid using appliances that may not be essential.

By doing such, we can conserve energy and not put a strain on our energy supplier's feeder lines.

Stay warm, but please consider limiting things tonight that may require more energy usage.
