The final two candidates for Governor squared off in what looks like the only head-to-head meeting between the two before the election.

The debate on Louisiana Public Broadcasting got heated as both incumbent Governor John Bel Edwards and his Republican challenger Eddie Rispone went on the attack against the other.

If you missed it, here's the video posted by LPB:

Edwards accused Rispone of spending millions in ads to try to sway voters, but repeatedly called him a conservative outsider who has bilked the state as a result of tax incentives.

“Eddie Rispone, you are a walking special interest,” Edwards said. “...You don’t know what you don’t know. And what you don’t know is astounding.”

Rispone went after the Governor for being tied to trial lawyers and sitting back while our state loses jobs.

“This is a clear choice between a tax-and-spend liberal career politician...and an outsider, a conservative, a pro-Trump person, someone who has created thousands of jobs,” Rispone said.
