Seniors at Gueydan High School gave us a very real glimpse of what a socially distant graduation ceremony looks like.

As far as I know, the Vermilion Parish high school ran their graduation ceremony as scheduled as many seniors were set to graduate this weekend. In total, 35 seniors picked up their diplomas in full cap and gown on Thursday night but it wasn't the graduation they may have envisioned when they started their final year of high school.

This video from the Fruge family captures the essence of a "socially distant" graduation. (make sure you watch until the end)

According to a family member, the students were allowed into the building, one by one, to receive their diplomas. The sounds of Pomp & Circumstance filled the room as each student was recognized over the PA system by masked faculty staff who handed them their diplomas on stage.

KATC was also there with cameras rolling and students shared their take on the emotional experience.

Congratulations to the entire class of 2020. You will definitely be one of the most unforgettable classes of all time.
