It's official: Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez will be having a bouncing baby boy. Minus the bouncing, we assume.

"My son will be an American, but I remain French," Martinez told People in Paris, where he was acting as the honorary president of the Champs-Elysées Film Festival.

“I’m French — it’s less important,” Martinez explained to the assembled reporters. “Meaning, I remain a Frenchman in America, but I adapt to American culture. I feel good there — but I’m still a foreigner. My son will be an American."

So to recap: While his son will be born an American, that won't alter Olivier's own nationality. Presumably because that's not how these things work.

Berry will join Martinez on the red carpet today (June 13) as the festival's honorary guest. The 46-year-old is about five months pregnant with her second child, who will join 5-year-old big sister Nahla -- her dad is model and occasional punching bag Gabriel Aubrey -- later this year.
