According to 8NewsNow the Las Vegas Metro Police investigation of Henry Ruggs III's deadly crash on Tuesday found the wide receiver was driving approximately 156 mph moments before impacting another vehicle. The Chevrolet Corvette was traveling 127 mph when the airbags were deployed.
Additionally, Ruggs is said to have had a blood alcohol level of .161 on Tuesday morning, more than twice the legal limit.
Tina Tintor, 23, of Las Vegas, was driving a Toyota Rav4, died in the accident. Rudy Washington, 22, is the girlfriend of Ruggs and was seriously injured. Additionally Tintor's dog was killed in the crash.
Police also found a gun in the floorboard of Ruggs' Chevrole Corvette, the gun was reportedly loaded and Ruggs was in possession of it illegally.
Ruggs was released after Judge Joe Bonaventure set his bail at $150,000. The state requested it set at $1 million but the judge opted otherwise. He is ordered to abstain from alcohol and other controlled substances. He's barred from driving and was forced to surrender his passport.
Hector Mejia of 8NewsNow reported that the only response Ruggs gave to the judge was, "yes sir".
Judge Bonaventure stated that he couldn't recall seeing a speed that high in his time on the bench.
Ruggs now faces 2-46 years in prison but Mejia reports that prosecution is considering levying additional charges after discovering the gun in the Corvette.
The Las Vegas Raiders released Ruggs on Tuesday night.
