Boil Advisory for Several Schools in Lafayette Parish, Here’s What You Need to Know
All students will report to Lafayette Parish public schools tomorrow, Thursday, January 18, but there will be a caution for students, faculty and staff at several schools.
Lafayette Parish School System officials report that several schools will be under LUS water boil advisories due to safety concerns about the health of the water.
Clean water refilling stations will be available to all students and everyone who attends classes is being asked to bring a bottle of water. In addition to this option, students who do not have a water bottle will have access to clean, bottled water.
The following schools will be under these guidelines while the boil advisory is in effect:
J. Wallace James Elementary School
Carencro High School
Live Oak Elementary School
J.W. Faulk Elementary School
David Thibodaux STEM Magnet Academy
Evangeline Elementary School
Acadian Middle School
Northside High School
Truman Elementary School
Alice Boucher Elementary School
Baranco Elementary School
In the press release from the Lafayette Parish School System they pointed out the following as well,
School is still in session tomorrow. All safety precautions are being followed to ensure students and staff are safe. Meal will be served.
A boil water advisory was issued for several areas of the parish earlier on Wednesday.
Hand sanitizer will be available to all students at these schools.
Restrooms are working as usual, and the only thing is that students cannot consume the water at this time.
