(Lafayette, Louisiana) - A Lafayette firefighter says that he had a gun pulled on him after he approached the person who had his lawn equipment in their possession.

Brittney Terrell Farrier posted a photo of the lawn equipment stolen from her husband's work trailer, and now they are asking the public for help locating it.

She tells me that her husband, who is a firefighter in Lafayette, has a lawn service on the side to help make ends meet, and while at a client's house, someone walked into his enclosed trailer and stole the weed eaters he uses to mow yards.

When Brittney's husband saw the man walking away with his equipment, he went after them and even attempted to stop them from driving off, and that is when the man who had his equipment reached for a gun in the getaway car and pointed it at her husband.

With the gun pointed at him, the robber told him that he was not getting his equipment back, and that is when they drove off.

We are told that the robbery happened at Silkwood and Duclos in Lafayette (In the vicinity of the Saint Streets). The vehicle used to get away was a newer black Honda Civic with a blue paper plate. The man who stole the lawn equipment is described as a black male.

According to the firefighter who had his equipment stolen, the getaway car drove through a ditch when speeding off with his lawn equipment, and there may be damage visible on the passenger side door.

A police report has been filed, but the couple is asking for the public to be on the lookout for anyone trying to sell the weed eaters for a low price or even pawn them.

The stolen lawn equipment is described as follows: 3 Shindaiwa weed eaters, 2 with Darwin Grips attached. We are attaching the photo that Brittney shared on social media so that you can see what the weed trimmers look like.

If you see them or anyone trying to sell the lawn equipment listed below, please contact the Lafayette Police Department.
