Three Acadiana Businesses Are Closing Including a Longstanding Mexican Restaurant in Broussard
LAFAYETTE, La. - There are a lot of ups and downs in running a business these days. It's been a stretch of seemingly more lows than highs for several Acadiana businesses.
And along that note, sadly, we have some closures to report.

La Hacienda Authentic Mexican Restaurant and Cantina Closes in Broussard
The first closure comes from Broussard where longstanding La Hacienda Authentic Mexican Restaurant and Cantina, located at 809 Alberston Parkway, has closed its doors. According to a post in the Facebook group "Closed In Acadiana," there is a sign on the entrance stating the restaurant was closed and "For Lease" signs were seen on the storefront.
While we don't have an exact date as to when La Hacienda first opened, it has been there for several years. (I remember dining there in the mid-2000s when I lived in that area.)

I also recall the food being pretty good. The customers, for the most part, seemed to agree. 86% of customers (out of 362 reviews) recommended the restaurant on its Facebook page.
Cici's Pizza on Ambassador Caffery: Closed or Under New Ownership?
The next business to close appears to be Cici's Pizza, located at 4510 Ambassador Caffery Parkway in Lafayette. We use the word "appears" because we have received conflicting reports.
The Cici's Pizza website shows that the location is permanently closed.
However, a comment on the Facebook Group "Foodies of Lafayette" states otherwise. The post shows a screenshot from Google that states the following:
The Cici's Pizza located at 4510 Ambassador Caffery Pkwy does not currently have a visible sign because the property is under new ownership, undergoing, or has faced delays in installing updated signage.
We'll try to reach out to the owner(s) of this Cici's Pizza location and provide an update on this situation. By the way, this Cici's location has been open since October 2018.
Oh Sugar La Is Closing June 30 — Last Chance for Dubai Chocolate Bars
The final business we've heard about that will be closing is a boutique sweet treats shop called Oh Sugar La.
Oh Sugar La was initially launched as a home-based and pop-up dessert business in Lafayette in 2022. They have been famously known for their viral Dubai chocolate bars and strawberry cups, which were also sold at local Zeus locations.
As you can see in the post above, the business will cease to exist on June 30, 2026.
