Lafayette High Shocks Student Athletes With Gym Remodel Reveal

Lafayette High School is currently undergoing a complete, multimillion-dollar rebuild scheduled to be open for the 2025-2026 school year.

While the students can't wait fast enough to start walking the halls of their brand-new school, the LHS basketball and volleyball teams got a shock today as they were treated to their new gym Extreme Makeover style!

In a video posted by LPSS, we get to see the moments the Lafayette High School basketball and volleyball teams enter their brand-new gym for the first time.

As you would expect, there are a lot of smiles and a lot of pride beaming from these student-athletes.

Lafayette Parish School System promises the new LHS when completed will boast a show-stopper of an auditorium, cutting-edge classrooms, creative and career spaces, a stunning new band room, all with what they say is a safety-first design.
