Lafayette, Louisiana Bridge to Close for Next Nine Months Due to Construction

Lafayette Consolidated Government announced today that the Lajaunie Road Bridge between Maryview Farm Road and E. Gloria Switch Road will be closed for road construction beginning April 17, 2024.

The project is expected to last approximately nine months.

Detour signs will be posted. Those detour routes will be as follows:

DETOUR WHEN APPROACHING FROM THE SOUTH OF THE BRIDGE

That detour route will be Maryview Farm Road, E. Butcher Switch Road, I-49 Frontage Road, Hector Connoly Road, Beau Bassin Road, E. Gloria Switch Road.

DETOUR WHEN APPROACHING FROM THE NORTH OF THE BRIDGE

That detour route will be E. Gloria Switch Road, Beau Bassin Road, Hector Connoly Road, I-49 Frontage Road, E. Butcher Switch Road, Maryview Farm Road.

The map below shows where the bridge repair will be taking place along with the detour routes.

As you can see, this is the second major project in the area as a stretch of E. Gloria Switch Road is currently closed.
