One Louisiana escape room just received some serious national recognition, and it's located in a place you might not expect.

The Escape Warehouse in Louisiana has been named the second-best escape room in America.

That's according to the 2026 USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards, which recently released its list of the 10 best escape rooms in the country. The Escape Warehouse came in at No. 2, putting this Louisiana escape room in some pretty impressive company.

A Louisiana Escape Room Just Cracked The National Top 10

If you've never been to an escape room, the basic idea is pretty simple.

You and your crew get dropped into a themed adventure and have a limited amount of time to find clues, solve puzzles, uncover secrets and ultimately complete the mission.

The Escape Warehouse describes its experiences as "immersive entertainment designed around storytelling, puzzles, teamwork and critical thinking."

And apparently, quite a few people think they're doing it really well.

The Escape Warehouse is located at 400 SW Railroad Avenue in Ponchatoula, making this a pretty cool destination for anyone looking for something different to do in southeast Louisiana.

What's especially interesting is that this isn't the first time the Louisiana business has appeared on the USA TODAY 10 Best list.

The Escape Warehouse previously made the 2024 list of the country's top 10 escape rooms, coming in at No. 10 that year.

Going from No. 10 to No. 2 is a pretty substantial jump.

What Makes The Escape Warehouse So Different?

The Escape Warehouse isn't just about finding a combination to a padlock and yelling, "I GOT IT!"

The company puts a major emphasis on immersive storytelling and detailed environments.

Its current lineup includes experiences built around different genres, including thriller, mystery, horror and science fiction. The games range from 60-minute experiences to longer 90-minute adventures.

One of the current experiences is Hide + Seek, a 60-minute thriller designed for groups of two to 10 players.

Then there's SHHH!, a 90-minute horror experience inspired by true stories that accommodates groups of two to eight players.
