LOUISIANA (KMDL-FM) - The FDA has issued a massive recall of thousands of Hidden Valley salad dressing products across 27 states, including Louisiana due to possible "foreign objects" contaminating the dressings.

Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Recall

According to the FDA, over 3,500 cases of Hidden Valley Ranch salad dressings sold at seven different retailers across 27 states, including Louisiana, are now under a nationwide recall due to concerns over the dressings containing "black plastic planting material".

Ventura Foods, the company who produces the Hidden Valley dressings has instituted this voluntary recall.

What Hidden Valley Dressings Are Being Recalled?

According to the FDA, the following Hidden Valley salad dressings are included in the recall:

Hidden Valley, Buttermilk Ranch

Caesar Dressing served at Costco Service Deli

Caesar Dressing served at Costco Food Court

Ventura Caesar Dressing

Pepper Mill Regal Caesar Dressing

Pepper Mill Creamy Caesar Dressing

Creamy Poblano Avocado Ranch Dressing and Dip

The dressings we're sold Costco as well as 6 other stores.

"The alert was assigned a Class II label, which refers to 'a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.'"

The good news is that the majority of the dressings being recalled were sold in gallon size. So, as of now, unless you buy your Hidden Valley Ranch and other salad dressings by the gallon, from what we know you should be OK.

And, if you do buy your Hidden Valley by the gallon, we're not here to judge.
