Saints Superfan Jarrius ‘JJ’ Robertson Reacts To Receiving The Jimmy V Award [VIDEO]
This is exactly why we love little "JJ."
When the 15-year-old heard that he was receiving the award named after Jim Valvano, he wasn't exactly what it meant. Once he realized just how big the honor was, and that he was the recipient, his reaction was nothing short of the Jarrius we know and love.
The Jimmy V Award is given to those who "portray perseverance in the most difficult of circumstances," and Robertson is more than deserving.
The Saints superfan suffers from a chronic liver disease that affects his growth called bilary atresia. He's gone through 13 surgeries and two liver transplants but you would never know if you were around him.
"JJ" has an infectious personality and the type of energy that can light up any room, which is why he was dubbed the New Orleans Saints official "hype man" on GMA after famously telling opponents not to "dance in his end zone."
You can see him at Saints games and practices and on ESPN July 12 when he is presented with this year's Jimmy V Perseverance Award.
Congrats again, "JJ." Don't give up! Don't ever give up!
