Jealous Man Shoots Girlfriend’s Lover in Bed in Eunice

According to this story from KATC TV3, a Eunice man has been arrested for shooting his girlfriend's lover.

Authorities say that David Haworth went to a home on College Road in Eunice and saw a man in bed with Haworth's girlfriend. Then, according to the story, Haworth climbed through the window and an argument began and, in the course of the argument, he pointed a weapon at his girlfriend.

The victim then got in front of the woman and had words with the suspect, at which point Haworth pulled the trigger and shot the victim.

Police found Haworth later in the day and arrested him for an unrelated offense. After authorities finished investigating the shooting, they arrested Haworth on attempted manslaughter charges along with an aggravated assault with a firearm charge.

The victim was shot near the wrist and was transported from the scene for treatment.
