Judge Orders Tom Benson to Undergo Mental Evaluation

A district judge has ordered New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson to undergo a physical and mental evaluation as part of the lawsuit filed by his spurned heirs.

However, the examining doctor will be chosen by Benson’s attorney and must be completed by March 13th.

The attorney for Benson’s heirs argue that he can no longer make consistent decisions in personal and business affairs. Benson’s daughter Renee, and grand-daughter Rita are seeking control of both sports franchises after he removed them as from his succession plan and gave future control to his wife Gayle Benson.
