The Lafayette Police Department is investigating the shooting that took place Saturday evening. Four individuals were shot in the parking lot of the locally owned and loved restaurant, KOK Wings and Things in Lafayette, and two of those individuals succumbed to their injuries.

This tragic incident has deeply saddened the KOK family and their customers. They have quickly jumped into action to help the victim's family during this difficult time by announcing they plan on contacting everyone involved and will also donate a portion of their proceeds to the victim's family.

The press release reads:

"KOK Wings and Things, located in Lafayette, Louisiana, is deeply saddened by the tragic incident that occurred on Saturday, November 9th near our restaurant. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families.

Owners Avery Bell, Corey McCoy, Jared Johnson and Tre’Jan Vinson plan on meeting with the families affected by this incident.

In response, we are donating a percentage of sales from all food, drinks, and gift card purchases throughout the month of November to support the victims. We are committed to helping the community during this difficult time.

The restaurant is now open for regular business hours and continues to serve our loyal customers.

Tre’Jan Vinson, CMO and co-owner of KOK, addressed the heartbreaking incident that happened near his restaurant "we have been proud members of the Lafayette community for the last 10 years, and we only want to move forward positively from this." Vinson explains that this incident not only affected the victims involved in the shooting but customers inside, along with his staff.
