Lafayette Mayor-President Joel Robideaux Not Seeking Re-election (VIDEO)
In a news conference today, Lafayette Mayor-President Joel Robideaux announced he is not running for re-election.
All TV news stations, The Advocate, The Advertiser, and The Current were notified of the news conference, but the Mayor's Office would not tell them what he would speak on before he took the podium. KPEL News was NOT notified of the press conference by Robideaux or his office. We are assuming it was an oversight.
Robideaux did not take questions after making his announcement.
This comes nearly a month after former Lafayette Consolidated Government Director Carlee Alm-LaBar announced she would challenge Robideaux for the seat in the upcoming election on October 12.
Alm-Labar will be a guest on "Up Close with Bernadette Lee" on Saturday morning at 8:00 AM.
