Rapper Lil Wayne performed a free concert for UL students and before the show was presented with a key to the city from Lafayette Mayor-President Joel Robideaux.

The concert, held at the CAJUNDOME was a reward to the students of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette through a TIDAL contest that promoted a Social Wave For Change.

Students piled in by the thousands to see the "best rapper alive" who was surprised with the one-of-a-kind gift before he took the stage.

MacKenzie Bourg received a similar token from the Mayor-President last month when he returned to Lafayette to film his hometown segment upon making the Top 4 of American Idol.

Robideaux presented the key to Wayne for recognizing the students of UL and the universities hard work and dedication to national issues.

Rumor has it the key opens up secret portions of Rouse's, Judice Inn and an exclusive VIP room at Red's.

OK, those are all things that I made up, but feel free to watch the entire Lil Wayne concert below courtesy of TIDAL.
