What Life Is Like Aboard An Oil Platform In The Gulf Of Mexico [VIDEO]

Have you ever wondered what it was like on an oil platform?

This video was shot aboard Chevron's oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico.

I have a ton of friends that work offshore. Some can even catch Hot 107.9 from the platform. Even though they can't call in, when they get back on land they'll call me up and ask if I can give a shout out to their friends or family on the rig.

Until I saw this video today I had no idea what it looked like on the platform. All I ever see is a fly-by on TV and I've heard lots of good stories of what goes on while on the rig.

This video, shot by Jessica St. Romain, shows just about every thing that goes on, from the helicopter landing to the food and bunks on the inside.

They end the video with the harsh reality of working on an oil rig. Kudos to the men and women who spend time away from their families to supply us with oil.
