Long Lines for Food at St. Thomas More

A listener shared photos of the long lines at St. Thomas More High School as it served as a food distribution point.

The Three O'Clock Project, an organization that gives free meals to school kids, was handing out a week's worth of breakfast and lunch provisions. The organization trucks in the supplies each week for distribution.

These pictures served as an eye-opener for me: I had no idea that there were so many families in the area that are in need of free meals.

According to the Three O'Clock Project's website, the organization is approved through the Louisiana Department of Education to supply meals during the COVID-19 pandemic. The meals are available to any child aged 18 and under and are given out each week (in the Lafayette area, Tuesday is the distribution day).

Again, this was only one of the four distribution points in Lafayette. If there were this many vehicles at the other locations in Lafayette, the problem here is much worse than I had imagined.
