Louisiana Can Expect Dollar Tree Stores to Increase Prices

Prices across the board have been on the rise at stores and restaurants in Louisiana, as well as across the rest of the country. I'm sure you've noticed by now and didn't need me to state the obvious but now another chain has decided to increase their prices.

The Dollar Tree really isn't the dollar tree anymore, and honestly it hasn't been for a while but now prices are set to increase with a cap at $7. Now, we know that $7 isn't that high but when you are know for having items around a buck or two it certainly is higher than customers are used to seeing at the Dollar Tree, hints the name.

In a recent call recapping the fourth quarter earnings CEO Rich Dreiling explained that items that customers can expect to be more expensive are things like pet related items, food products, and personal care items.

We have substantially completed the rollout of $3, $4, and $5 frozen and refrigerated items, which are now available in more than 6,500 stores. Today, we typically offer multi-price frozen product in three coolers within our usual 10-cooler bank. Over time, that will evolve to eight out of 10 as we expand the assortment. By the end of 2023, we introduced $3 and $5 center store merchandise to approximately 5,000 Dollar Tree stores and expect to add another 2,000 stores this year

One the call he also discussed plans to introduce multi priced items since they have seen this work for other companies.

Our shoppers will find $5 bags of dog food next to our traditional $1.25 pet treats and toys, and our $3 bags of candy will be found in the candy aisle
