LSU made a big announcement Thursday in regards to how their sports facilities will handle transactions in 2020.

The university announced that Tiger Stadium, along with all other sports venues on campus, will have cashless transactions in 2020 due to the threat of the coronavirus.

In the statement released by LSU, they said that this policy should also speed up the process at concession stands and merchandise stores. Some fans, who voiced their concerns on social media platforms, did not agree with that statement.

Fans at LSU athletic events will be able to purchase concessions and merchandise by using one of the following payments:

  • All major credit cards
  • Apple Pay
  • Android Pay
  • Tiger Cash (concessions only)

LSU has also announced that they will not use hard tickets for admission into Tiger Stadium in 2020. Tickets will all be digital this year.

Lastly, the university reports that for those without any of the above forms of payment they are working towards a solution with a prepaid card purchase option.
