Luna Bar & Grill announced it is closing its doors at the end of the month.

Luna Bar & Grill, a restaurant that has been located at 533 Jefferson Street in Downtown Lafayette since its opening in March 2020, has confirmed that it will be closing its doors at the end of this month. The news came after weeks of speculation and rumors circulating among the local community.

In a statement released on the Foodies of Lafayette Facebook group, Luna Bar & Grill addressed the hearsay and officially announced its impending closure. The statement attributed the decision to an exorbitant increase in rent, which the restaurant management deemed unsustainable for their business operations. The rising costs put them in a position where continuing to operate in the downtown location was no longer financially viable.

Our rent has been raised to a point that we aren't comfortable with moving forward. As far as relocating goes, we are already upside down from renovating our current property, so we won't be moving locations.

The final day of business for Luna Bar & Grill's downtown Lafayette location is set for June 25th, urging patrons to visit the restaurant one last time before its closure. Despite bidding farewell to the downtown Lafayette scene, Luna Bar & Grill will continue to operate its two remaining locations in Downtown and South Lake Charles, providing a culinary haven for residents and visitors to those areas.

The news of Luna Bar & Grill's closure has undoubtedly saddened its loyal customer base, who have come to appreciate the restaurant's vibrant atmosphere and diverse menu offerings. The establishment had gained popularity for its fusion of flavors, and live music events, leaving a lasting impression on the Lafayette dining scene.

Luna Bar & Grill also took the opportunity to let the public know that their dedicated team will be seeking new employment opportunities. The Facebook announcement included a plea for any prospective employers in need of valuable additions to their staff, highlighting the talent and capabilities of Luna's team members.

As the restaurant counts down its final days of operation, locals are encouraged to seize the opportunity to savor their favorite dishes and bid farewell to the Luna crew.

For those who find themselves in Downtown or South Lake Charles, Luna Bar & Grill's remaining locations will continue to offer the same cuisine and spirit that made Luna Bar & Grill a dining destination for fans in the Lafayette area.

As Luna Bar & Grill prepares to lower its curtain in Downtown Lafayette, any local foodies looking to get one last bite can stop in before it closes its doors for good on June 25.
