In a social media post, Zero Degrees thanks its customers for four years of business and notes that for the past year, they have struggled due to 'rough times and the economy.' This is a familiar story for many businesses that have closed in the Lafayette area this year.
World of Beer was within walking distance from Zero Degrees, until it closed its doors unexpectantly in December of 2023. That space still remains vacant. Multiple vacancies in a brand-new shopping center are certainly a concern for the surrounding businesses and the community.

"Hello everyone,
We want to start off by saying thank you for all the love and support everyone has shown us since we been here. We truly appreciate your business with us.
It is very hard to type this but unfortunately due to rough times with the economy and other challenges we have to announce that we are closing and this will be our last month. Through out this whole year we tried our best to maintain through it all but unfortunately it wasn’t good enough. It have taken everything out of us and cannot go on any further.
We will try to remain open till the end of the month or until we run out of inventory.
Once again, thank you for all love and support.
God Bless."
Zero Degrees' story is one we are hearing more and more from our local business owners. The local community does not take it lightly when a business or restaurant has to close its doors.
Many families want to shop local and support our Lafayette businesses, but they, too, are struggling financially, with the cost of living consistently inching upward.
While Lafayette and surrounding areas have seen exponential growth in the last few years, it can be difficult for businesses to compete and stay relevant.
Customers have until the end of the month to support Zero Degrees one last time. We wish them well in their future endeavors.
