What a tragic story.

KALB reports that a 50-year-old man in Alexandria is dead after he was struck by a fire truck late Friday night.

The corners office was seen near the fire station late Friday night and apparently they were there after this terrible accident.

The Alexandria Police Department and EMS reportedly responded to the 2500 block of Lee Street after the man was hit, but he died on the scene.

The accident is under investigation by the Alexandria Police Traffic Division and the man's identity had not been released.

A photo by KALB shows a fire engine halfway into the stall at the station after they responded to a call, but it is not clear why the firetruck struck the man.
