A man sitting in a cypress tree as a form of protest has fallen from the tree and injured himself.

The man was in the tree for 11 days in New Orleans as he was attempting to block construction of golf course in a large public park. The man, identified as Lloyd Boover, fell out of the tree in City Park Tuesday morning.

Reports indicate that the man had not eaten in over a day and that he apparently became disoriented while up in the tree. This apparently led to him falling from it. It's believed that Boover may have broken an ankle and his nose in the fall.

A police officer was assigned to watch over Boover while he demonstrated his protest and did rush to his aid as soon as he fell from the tree. Police were able to obtain a warrant for his arrest on charges of disturbing the peace and criminal trespassing.

An eyewitness to the incident says she isn't sure if Boover ever hit the ground, but he did manage to climb back up the tree after the fall. He was removed after police notified EMS and the New Orleans Fire Department.
