A new challenger joins the infamous chicken sandwich wars. If 2019 will be remembered for anything it will be this war among the Chick-fil-A and Popeyes franchises.

McDonald's has begun testing its new arsenal of chicken sandwiches. They will be testing the new bird in Knoxville, Tennessee, and Houston, Texas.  The new sandwich will be different from their other weapons of chicken goodness; such as the Hot & Spicy and the Southern-Style Buttermilk sandwich.

The new sandwich will consist of a new crispy chicken filet, butter & pickles, and will use a potato roll. They will also have a deluxe version which will have everything the regular does plus tomatoes, lettuce, and mayo.

The sandwich has been in the works since before Popeyes unveiled its sandwich. McDonald's will be testing the sandwich from December 2nd through January 26th, 2020. This sandwich is top priority at McDonald's HQ. They are also planning to unveil chicken for breakfast in a big way come 2020.
