Migos Rapper Takeoff Dead After Being Shot in Houston
Migos rapper Takeoff is dead at the age of 28 after an early morning shooting in Houston.
Details are scarce, but multiple outlets are reporting that Takeoff, one-third of the rap trio Migos, has passed away. According to XXL, Takeoff was shot during an altercation as a group of roughly 50 people had gathered outside of a bowling alley in Houston.
The incident reportedly took place around 2:30 a.m. local time in Houston. Takeoff, born Kirshnik Khari Ball, was at the establishment where a game of dice was allegedly being played. Quavo was also present at the time. There is no confirmation that Takeoff nor Quavo were part of the dice game. At some point, an altercation broke out at the venue. Takeoff was allegedly shot in either the head or neck and pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other people were reportedly shot, and while we don't know their conditions, Quavo (Takeoff's uncle and bandmate) is said to be uninjured despite rumors that he may have been shot during the incident.
Multiple images on social media reportedly showed the rapper lying dead on the ground.
Police would not name a victim, but did confirm that one person died in a shooting in the 1200 block of Polk Street in Downtown Houston.
