The former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world will soon be facing an opponent who might be just as fierce as he is. A shark. A big one. Mike Tyson will be appearing on Discovery Channel's wildly popular "Shark Week", which this year runs from August 9-August 16. He'll take on a great white in what the network is calling "Tyson vs Jaws:Rumble on the Reef" on August 16th. You can see a video promo of the event below.

'Shark Week' has been running each summer since 1988, and they have a different celebrity presenter each year. In a statement, Tyson said “I took on this challenge to overcome fears I still deal with in life. I equate this with overcoming my fear of getting back into the ring at 54 years old.”

The champ is set to take on Roy Jones Jr in a pay per view eight round exhibition match on September 12 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. Video of Tyson circulated a couple of months ago that showed him training, and it caused quite a lot of chatter on social media. In other words, he's still "got it".

Jamie Foxx is set to play Tyson in an upcoming biopic, and told NME that he's been training with pull ups, push ups, and dips to get ready for the film.
