Former LSU Teammates Back Together After Giants Trade OBJ To The Browns
Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. are teammates once again!
ESPN's Adam Schefter says a source has confirmed that the New York Giants have agreed to trade superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns.
The Giants will receive the Browns' first-round pick in 2019 (No. 17 overall), their second third-round pick this year (95th overall) and safety Jabrill Peppers for Beckham.
Beckham's response to the trade: "Wow."
Odell also told ESPN's Josina Anderson that current Browns receiver (and former LSU teammate) Jarvis Landry called him and said that Cleveland's GM and head coach "wanted him badly." OBJ said the next call was Giants GM Dave Gettleman informing him that he was being traded to the Browns.
You can get more details on the trade here via ESPN, but for a lot of local LSU fans there is some excitement in the air now that two former Tigers are now quite possibly the best 1-2 receiving tandem in the league. Oh, and the guy throwing to them is some kid by the name of Baker Mayfield.
To add a little more local flavor the current Browns receivers coach is Adam Henry who also coached Beckham and Landry during their time as star players at LSU.
The Browns are shaping up to be a team to watch next season, and they're not even done yet.
