Do You Recognize This Couple? The Owner of Poseidon’s Restaurant in Lafayette Would Like A Word With Them
The owner of Poseidon’s Greek Restaurant in Lafayette is looking to track down a couple that visited his restaurant over the weekend.
UPDATE:
It seems as if the couple has been found after a Facebook user named Andreas left the following comment on the Poseidon's Greek Restaurant post showing gratitude for the owner's extended gesture and explaining their side of the story.
ORIGINAL STORY:
On Saturday night (May 20), a couple arrived at the restaurant located at 103 Kaliste Saloom Road in Lafayette. According to the owner, the restaurant was “busy and lost,” which is what he believes led to the couple being passed over for nearly 10 minutes after being seated.
Last night we were a bit busy and lost. They were seated at a table and nobody got them menus or drinks for 8 minutes, so they walked out. My apologies.
Now, we’ve all been in this situation before while dining at a restaurant. As a matter of fact, recently I wondered if I was at the wrong table because it seemed like everyone around me was being served and we hadn’t even gotten menus or drink orders.
While I’m sure a lot of people just do what I did and wait until someone notices you (they eventually grabbed our orders and the meal was amazing) there are others who won’t hesitate to flag someone down.
This couple wasn’t the latter, so they simply got up and left the restaurant.
That clearly has not sat well with the owner of Poseidon's who is putting out a call to identify and locate this couple in order for him to provide them a free dinner on the house.
While a lot of restaurant owners know this is just part of the business when things get hectic, Poseidon’s Greek Restaurant is clearly being proactive by reaching out to the public to identify this couple and make the situation right.
The post has been shared over 70 times, and comments have been a bit mixed.
There were some people who felt like eight minutes wasn’t that long of a wait for restaurant service on a Saturday night.
Others recognized the gesture and paid compliments to the owner for being gracious.
Of course, there were others who saw the opportunity to also get a free dinner, whether they actually had the same experience at the restaurant or not.
Something tells me word will ultimately get back to the couple in question here, but whether they accept or not, you’ve got to respect the fact that Poseidon’s recognized their shortcomings; not to mention the fact that they publicized their misstep in an effort to make it right.
Hit that share button to get the word out and we’ll definitely update the story when and if this mystery couple is found.
