Patriots Release Antonio Brown

Antonio Brown's tenure in New England lasted one game.

The Patriots released the former All-Pro wide receiver today, as Brown expressed gratitude for the opportunity on Twitter.

New England released a statement following the move.

Brown's release is the latest chapter in a headline-grabbing month for Brown, who was released by the Raiders on September 7th.

From frostbite on his feet, to a helmet hold out, to missing all of training camp, to complaining about fines on social media, to a confrontation with Raiders general manager Mike Mayock, to a public request to be released by his team, to releasing a private phone conversation he had with his head coach Jon Gruden, Brown was released by Oakland before playing a single snap for them.

Shortly thereafter, he agreed to a 1-year deal with the Patriots.

Since signing with New England, a civil suit lawsuit was filed by a former LSU gymnast Britney Taylor accusing Brown of sexually assaulting her on three separate occasions. Brown denied the allegations.

Today, a second woman came forward, accusing Brown of sexual misconduct.
