Pictures of Downtown Lake Charles 5 Days After Hurricane Laura

Early August 27, Hurricane Laura made landfall near Cameron, Louisiana leaving behind a path of destruction to Southwest Louisiana. With maximum sustained winds of 150 mph, higher in gusts, Laura will go down in history as being one of the most powerful hurricanes to strike the Louisiana coast.

At last count, there were 28 Hurricane Laura related deaths. Over 200,000 people were without drinking water and the biggest city affected, Lake Charles, Louisiana, was completely without power. Residents of Lake Charles, Westlake and Sulfur may be without power for at least a month.
